With this year's wedding season winding down, we finally have a chance to catch our breath and take a look at all of the amazing things that happened. It's been the best kind of whirlwind. We started the year off with a bang, welcoming new team members in order to be able to satisfy demand and keep standards high. After learning that we were the only vintage furniture rental company left in the city, we began expanding our collection to accommodate all of the new orders. Orders for rental items like vintage china and glassware kept coming in and we kept scouting more great pieces for the collection. Weddings during the colder months of the year have been getting more popular, so we assisted with planning and rentals for plenty of great couples during what is typically our "slow" season. At the same time, we were continuing to work on our planning clients for later in the season and for 2018, plus meeting new couples who had gotten engaged over the holidays. We could tell 2017 was going to be big!
One of the best things about Chicago Vintage Weddings is the type of couple we attract. We get people who are fun, creative and interesting. We get people with great style. We get people so in love with each other that you can feel it when they enter the room. While it would take ages to share the details of every one of the unique weddings that took place this year, here are some highlights that we've been looking forward to sharing with you!
First up is Sarah + Will. We began working with them in 2016 for planning with a focus on design. The vision was to host an elegant, romantic, classic affair at the Chicago History Museum. With the help of a fantastic team of professionals, everything was executed beautifully. It's been hard to stop working with this couple and with Sarah's darling family; after every wedding we start to miss our clients!
Later in June, Chrissy + John had one of the most unique weddings we have ever planned. In 2016 they approached us to help them plan a surprise wedding at the family home. This required a lot of strategizing, especially because Chrissy's own father didn't know that the party we were throwing on his property was going to include his daughter's wedding ceremony! Considering that only the moms and the couple were in on the surprise, we knew that guests might not arrive on time for the "engagement" party. This meant that the beginning of the event would be a dog rescue fundraiser for One Tail at a Time dog rescue, complete with adoptable pups! After the big reveal, guests were invited to witness the ceremony and join in a gorgeous tented reception featuring our vintage rentals, live music and creative catering.
Next we worked with blogger Casey a.k.a. Officially Quigley, her groom Alex + his darling mom Karen to host a boho-chic affair in Karen's backyard. As a model and art director, Casey had a strong creative vision for the day. The L.A.-based couple enlisted our help after switching venues only a few months before the big day. Every little detail was carefully considered, from food trucks to florals to decor to personal style. You'll surely be seeing much more of this amazing affair around the web! Even this small sneak peek is perfection.
Last but not least were Jasmine + Tianshu. The couple were already married and had a delightful little ring bearer of their own, but they wanted to host an elegant event for guests to enjoy. After selecting the Garfield Park Conservatory as their venue, they brought us on to organize a team of vendors that would be able to fulfill their romantic vision. As with every CVW planning event, we focused not only on logistics and budgeting but design, ensuring that the day would run smoothly while turning out picture-perfect. The couple's joy on the wedding day was contagious!
