Eliana and Josh's Wedding is on Ruffled Blog!

We're so pleased to share that Eliana and Josh's stunning Labor Day wedding has been featured on Ruffled Blog! In addition to the info and photos you'll find there, here is a little more about this special day. It's all too good to keep to ourselves!

The couple's nontraditional affair was a long time in the making and we were honored to help bring together all of the details. As their full planner, we helped with everything from logistics to design throughout our year working on this incredible event. Eliana and Josh's planning approach was particularly rewarding because we were able to help them plan several other weekend events, and we had an intimate look at just how much they and their families cared about turning their progressive values into tangible ways to give back. Keeping things sustainable and community-minded is incredibly important to us as well, and we love connecting with couples who enlist us to help with that process! They are truly an inspiration.

With today being Earth Day, it couldn't be a better time to call out some of our fellow Chicago Green Wedding Alliance vendors who worked on this fantastic event. Food For Thought--who also catered the bride's parents' wedding back in the day--knocked it out of the park with their fantastic fare and impeccable service (as always) and Peggy of Erickson Design helped with day-of paper goods and signage. Florist Thistle and Plume is also sustainability-focused and did a wonderful job executing a wild, romantic floral look while sourcing locally and seasonally. We swooned once we saw all of the decor coming together.

One of the most rewarding parts of the planning process is establishing a connection with our couples so that we can truly understand what is meaningful to them. Nothing feels better than seeing their happy faces throughout the day as their dreams are realized. In particular, when we are working on an event with many nontraditional details, we really take care to tailor our planning approach so that our couples are completely comfortable with the work we are doing and so that they feel heard. As such, receiving Eliana and Josh's rave review meant the world to us!

"Kate. Is. Incredible. I don’t know how she does it, but she is a superwoman and we literally could not have made our wedding happen without her. She hooked us up with some awesome vendors that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise and give us realistic expectations about our budget. She held our hand throughout the entire process (we booked her for full wedding planning) and counseled us through our anxieties and even family disagreements. (You never know how strong ideas you and your parents have about napkins until you get married!) If you’re debating about full planning or partial planning, my advice would be to just go for the full planning if you can swing it. The money we spent on planning we definitely saved in getting good deals and finding out about high quality, well-priced vendors. Also, the peace of mind that Kate at CVW provided was PRICELESS."

Eliana, Josh and Team Elioshua, thank you for the trust you placed in us. Working with you was a privilege. We are so honored to have been part of your beautiful day!
